i was tagged again, and this time it's all about my mom! :) which actually excites me! since me and my mom are bestfriends i guess it wouldn't be hard for me to think of random facts about her...

1. Mercedita in her birth certificate, Mercy as she writes in every forms she fills up, Chie for her family and friends, Echie for the elders in the neighborhood, Mami Chie for most of the neighbors and friends. Mama to me and jonah, Grandma to Olin --- sosyal ang lola mo! :)

2. My mom is a SAHM eversince with rackets on both sides, front and back! she has to, esp in our younger years when papa was still in the military. His monthly income most of the time cannot meet ends even at its stretchiest. That is why mama has to accept a lot of sidelines.

3. Mama excels in cooking! she's always invited in the fiesta's and other occasions of closest friends to cook. Even my friends loves her home cooked meal that is why a lot of them keeps on going back to our house to hang out with the intention of having free lunch and dinner! hehehehe...

4. She's super kind to everyone, like the neighbors who are in need of financial help, i mean even with a little amount of money left in her wallet and somebody asks her help, she'll lend it. that is why most of the time we'll have an argument regarding that.

5. She has a little store that is open for UTANG (charge), goodness! sometimes people are real-time USERS! and up to this time, there is one family in the neighborhood who owes her more than P2,000! it's been 8 months and they're still not paying. nerves!

6. She loves her family to the max. Giving everything she can to help our relatives. Even she ends up broke most of the time.

7. Though my papa has his time of being a 'pasaway na husband' you wouldn't caught my mom following trails of him to the beerhouses he's been hanging out. She's not like the other wives who would go out of their way and stoop down their level to be a war freak in places such as those. Good thing my father has changed after having his bunso. :)

8. My mom is my bestfriend. We always share the juciest gossips in town! :) even the happenings in my work, she knows it, and she's been friends with my co-workers as well! Sometimes, you' ll catch us at 12 midnight just having chixmax!

9. She so love being a first time grandmother! been giving my daughter the best-est lola care the world can offer. and it melts my heart whenever i sees them sleeping cuddled up so close.

10. She's been a wonderful and supportive mother-in-law to Amiel. Though they started rough at first (bf-gf time) now they are inseperable! :)

My dear friend in on her second pregnancy now, in fact she is about to past the first trimester of being pregnant. But because of the big age gap of her first born with her new pea she seemed to forget all the things that a pregnant woman must do and avoid! She's been text messaging me almost everyday asking about this and that as if I'm her OB Gyne that updates her with Pregnancy week by week! But since she is my friend and I heart her, aside from giving her my insights on the phase she's been going through, I also suggest sites that masters on pregnancy, birthing, child care and even has a list of great baby names! Gurgle is just one of the many sites, but for me, it is one of the best! honest to goodness information and helpful tips are what can be found on the said site. Something that you can just go and suggest, without further say about what it is all about because by just visiting the site, at that instant you'll sure to feel at ease!

So as I've mention in my other blog, I am now in quest for cute designer costume jewelry for my daughter. It will be my Christmas gift for her, since her father already bought something quite expensive for her. And I wanted to give her a gift too, actually we are going to buy another one which will be from us, so as early as now, Olin will have three gifts from her parents! I'm really really excited for Christmas! for sure my daughter will be ecstatic once she saw her gifts! :D So what am I thinking of getting her? I am eying this sterling silver girl charm that can match her other silver jewelries, thinking of us wearing silver on New Year's day instead of gold, that's why. And besides, who wouldn't love this cute pendant? It is super meant for the little girls in the family!

Pregnancy dust are on the loose now, as being noticed to fellow mommy bloggers who are now on their first and second motherhood travel. No, not that I'm one of them right now, although I love babies, I really do but having another one at this point in time is something we have to think over and over again. We actually plan of making another one in the next few years to come, if things would go according to our future plans. But for now, I am just one of those happy bloggers who are giddy excited for the new babies of my mommy friends. I wonder if they already have baby names ready? Speaking of names for baby girls, my friend Peachy had her ultrasound last Saturday and it was confirmed, she is going to have a baby girl! maybe I should tell her about this cool parenting site that features the latest and coolest names for babies! and not only that, it has wonderful articles for the future parents and advices when it comes to baby gearing, maternity and health. I remember myself when I was still pregnant with my daughter, I used to sign up to parenting sites and their weekly, even daily newsletters and articles too.

bubble soak tomorrow! :)

I got so inspired with my previous post about wellness and relaxation, and I realize that it has been jurassic months ago since the last time I got a pampering time in a spa. Being a frugal mom and wife, I opt not to get those expensive services as of the moment. But we need some of these few beauty treats once in a while right? oh well, what to do, what to do?!
For the meantime, while I am still contemplating on my wants and my attempt to save, what I did earlier while the daughter is taking her nap, I clean the whole bathroom and scrub to its squeaky clean the tub! Yes, I'd be taking a warm bubble soak tomorrow! :) Good thing I still have some bubble soap from MIL :) so there, tomorrow will be my mode of pampering! Salt scrub from Ilog Maria then warm soak for about an hour! I can't wait! :)

love to read

Now here's another photo of my princess (who happens to look like a boy in this picture! lol) while she was flipping her Bible Story Book... maybe this is what she gets from me, the love for reading :) As per advise by one of my tita, one good bonding moment of a mother and daughter is reading, so as much as possible, aside from playing with her shapes sorting box, I read to her. Sometimes she would listen, sometimes she won't, given kids a short attention span, a good three to five minutes without distraction is a milestone, I tell you! Also, whenever I read a magazine or a newspaper, even if it makes me look like a lunatic or papansin I read the articles aloud so she can hear me reading. At times, I don't care anymore of what the story is about, be it about the celebrities or vacation spots like reno hotels or those famous beaches, I can't remember anymore, as long as I read everything aloud for the little brat to hear. Now that is love and attention right? :)

bedtime

here is us, a few minutes before her bedtime, i make sure that she gets some doze of colors or shapes or animals, oh well, if she's in the mood like in the picture and not cranky, coz there are times she'd rather watch the youtube with her dad rather than pay attention to my readings. lol. but most of the times, she loves doing her own babbling and 'reading', so i let her be, until she throws away the book --- meaning she wants to stop na, give her milk bottle and she's about to sleep.

fast forward

ive'd been so uber busy these past few days that i need to finish some of the opps been thrown my way... i need to catch up with lots of your stories too.. but you see, bottle cleaning, cooking, sterilizing, cleaning the house, bathing the brat, washing dishes among many others keeps me away from my laptop... yaya less for two days now! and its not easy i tell you...specially when you got a cruiser/crawler baby! whew! i'm shedding off pounds you know... and i'm loving it! woohoo!
so there, i need to keep this short and i'm leaving you with my joker baby during her first Christmas Eve... opening of gifts! :) she loves the wrapper i tell you... :) lol.
and yeah... tomorrow marks our 2nd year anniversary! woohoo!

something from me etc

in addition to the stuff i got from my meet up with Peachy last Sunday is this pretty Liz Claiborne bag that i bought from her, paid using my paypal money! woohoo! now this is my Christmas gift for myself :) beside the bag i also got long wallets, at long last my stolen Fossil had been replaced... finally.

anyhoo, the yaya is gone for her Christmas vacation and will be back (hopefully) on January 3. you know, she might text and tells us that she'll be home in January 4 or 5 or 6 and so on.... she went home to her province yesterday morning thus making me the 'doer' here in the house, making me have a little less time for my online stuffs... i'm trying my best to maximize my time here, so i can finish some opps sent my way.... there are so many stories to tell but time restricts me to... and yeah, i got another hosting racket again tomorrow for a wedding, and yep it's our 2nd year anniversary and i will be working! kamusta naman yun?! hahahaha...
oops, gotta go now... Olin wants to go out... see yah!

First Family Christmas!

2007 marks our first Christmas as a family and it we had the busiest schedule this time. had to take a blog off for two days for me to attend some scheduled errands. the morning of 24th my sister and i was at my friend Paula's house to help her with the baking of Chocolate Krinkles, Banana and Carrot Cake that i'm suppose to give to our Ninangs and friends. the cakes was so yummy as expected ;) we finished with the baking around 6pm already. we had to rush since we are scheduled to have our dinner at Island Cove with my in laws, who were already checked in at the hotel. what i fussed about is the real deal traffic we encountered on our way to Island Cove, the usual fifteen minute drive turned out to one hour and thirty minutes uber waiting for the cars to move. made us into hungry monster i tell you. lol. exactly 12mn we started handing out gifts and the kids are all awake in their pj's opening their loots. got so many pictures of the family Christmas bonding and will post it later. but for now, let me again greet you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

gift for mama

Christmas 2005 before i got married, when i gave my mom a pair gold loop earrings. it was my first and only expensive present that i was able to give her, i marry at the age of 24 so i wasn't able to save up actually and help my parents, financially speaking. but i'm not losing hope, i know even though they are in the state of being not in need, deep inside i still want to give them something, i'm not losing hope you know, He knows when is the right time. but for now, all i can do is search and look for something fancy that in the future i can give my mom, who know i might win a million, by that i can get her a set of gemstone jewelry! she would definitely love that! time will come... i know!

flying kiss!

lookie how my little girl does her pa-cute flying kiss! :) she loves doing this whenever people says bye-bye... a very carinosa baby don't you think? aside from flying kiss, she also does bye-bye wave but she only does it if she's the one going out. she also cutely does beautiful eyes with the uber gigil smile, that makes everyones heart melt. and lately she imitate anyone she hears coughing, something so unusual but still, very cute! but what she really loves to do is dance with the Wowowee entrance song, papaya dance, beautiful girl, colgate, lactum, whisper and sanyo commercial! kulet lang... hehehehehe

*** i was just doin' my reading on my last year posts...and then i remembered that it was almost a year ago when i got a baby shower from my office mates... these are the times where i'm still not into paid blogging and all of my post entries are my real stories... i sometimes miss those times....
heniweys, here's the nostalgic event that happened a year ago...

ok, so eto na ang kwento ng baby shower ko last saturday...

venue: SSPI lobby/ 5:30pm
attendies: office/workmates, mae and dulz (all-girls)
theme: chocolate?! hehehe...
games: baby bingo, pass on the cotton balls, baby word.
shower hosts/clowns (hehehe): love and pau
give aways: lollipop cookies
highlights: the choco fountain! ;) and the dippers!
foods served: tacos, pansit bihon, crispy pata, fried chicken wings, rice!

...'twas actually the 2nd time na magkaron ng baby shower sa company namin, yung una kay te cons... before kze sobrang konti lang ng mga employees dito at di ganun nabibigyan ng time mga gantong ka-ekekan.. anyways, maybe because mas marami ng younger generations ang pakalat kalat kaya meron ng isa or dalawang nakakapag-isip ng mga gantong happenings...
so ayun nga, the planning na... supposedly sa house namin gagawin, join na lang sana with my friends from the outside world (hehehe..) and families as well... kaso di na nag-work out dahil baka may mga di maka-attend, at baka magkahiyaan na din. So katulad na lang ng kay te cons, sa company na lang.
...at dahil nga OC ako slash katikatera, kaya nagprovide din ako ng share ko... yung ever-choco fountain at mga dippers tsaka yung give away lollipop cookies and tacos. pero the rest, di ko na alam, nagulat na lang din ako dami pa palang food!

eto yung fountain, with the dippers, stick-o, bread sticks, marshmallows,apples (wala pa lang sa pic) tsaka yung cookies.

eto naman yung mga workmates ko while enjoying the fountain... one time or another nalimutan nilang shower ko dahil nawili sila sa chocolates! hehehe

what gifts that i got?: over-alls, feeding bottles, baby shampoo and soap, milk dispenser (un ba tawag dun?), rattle/teethers, bibs, socks, mittens, nipple cleaner, nail cutter, disney cloth diaper, hangers, pacifiers and booties!

wow! tibay ng baby namin... dami na agad gifts, di na nabigyan ng chance makapamili ang mommy! hehehe... ayos diba! halos kumpleto na gamit ni baby! ;)

anyways i was browsing earlier Crocs website and i heart one particular design and i told myself that i would ask for it to be my Christmas gift from the husband... then i made a lil chit chat with Peachy, lo and behold! i was able to make pahabol for the black Saturday shopping spree! :) teehee! i'm getting myself a crocs for a very cheap prize you wouldn't believe! hahahaha! the other pair is for the husband, which i wasn't able to keep as a secret from him though first plan is not to tell him, you know for the surprise thing...but the kutatera mode in me cannot be stopped..so now, he knows. daldal eh!

so there... 27 days to go before Christmas! and we are still not prepared. nyaks.

this is the latest photo of my 'mag-ama' ... this shot also invades my phone and my desktop as wallpaper... :) many people notice that Olin got her looks from his tatay, but some said from me.. how about you, who do you think really is the kamukha? but one thing is for real here, Olin got her pose from me! she is a certified camera-emotera! oh, i just can't wait to take photos of them using my dslr! good luck na lang at wag ako kainin ng camera ko~ baka lumululon ng tanga un! hehehehe... 10 more days and i can fiddle with it na! teehee! i'm so excited!

it's November 14 already! whew! time flies very fast during this time of the year noh? there are so many things to take care of, besides i'm helping my mom with the apartment construction (i sound like we are the ones building noh?! hehehe) i mean, the papers, materials to be ordered, monitoring of the workers etc.. getting in touch with the engr and the archi... blah blah blah... i also need to finish my near deadline opps but my mind is fried to do so, i'll deal with it later. but wait! today is the much awaited movie date with the Husband! we are off to watch One More Chance later.. teehee! :) and do our grocery shopping na din. a hectic schedule today, that's what i have. oops, gotta go now.. need to drive my mom to the Municipal Hall, we need to finish the papers needed for the Fire Department daw. hay, Government employees sometimes sucks talaga.. why they would require us to come back for the nth time only to find out that the person we need to see is OUT... goodness!

Mommy stuff

Let's talk mommy stuffs: thanks to lawyer mommy ANN for this! :)

1. What food did you crave when you were pregnant?

GoNuts Donuts! and Sinampalukang Manok :)

2. Did you gain a lot of weight when you were pregnant?

yeah! i was 72 kilos when about to give birth. now i'm 58 kilos... talk about the preggy tummy left. :(

3. Did you drink milk when you were pregnant?

i tried Anmun, but failed. it was the most disgusting drink i had during my preggy days

4. How long did you stay in the labor room before your delivery?

howell, i stayed in the labor room for 6 looonnnggg hours pushing all my might, again, failed. i had to have an emergency cs adding 2 hours more .

5. Did you have epidural during labor?

i wasn't supposed to because i ordered not to give me any anesthesia by all means, but after pushing for more than 5 hours the OB had to because my powers is almost drained. and sadly i had to receive another shot --spinal anesthesia before my CS operation. damn.

6. How did you give birth?

CS way! goodness, i cried so hard that i keep on telling my OB that I CAN DO IT! THE NATURAL WAY. i was 10cm dilated for pete sake! why can't she just lacerate me or something and get my baby from my vagina?! i really don't know. hay.

7. What was your first reaction when you heard your baby's cry and saw him/her for the first time?

i was super nervous, because i want to know if she comes out alive and normal. but when i saw her i asked my anesthesiologist who was holding me why my baby is dark?! KIRARA! hehehehe...and they all laugh. then i dozed off.

8. Prior to that moment when you first held your baby, did you know how to carry a newborn?

yeah i know, a lot of babies were born in the family prior to my daughter.

9. Did you take a bath after your delivery?

no. i wasn't allowed. because i suffered so much pain during my birthing time. and they said i can get relapse if i do so. i waited 9 loooonnnngggg days before i was allowed to take my 2 minute uber fast shower.

10. How was your first night with your baby like?

i wasn't able to sleep because i am so happy seeing my baby, that i keep on talking and talking to everyone in the family, yes. i never let them sleep too! :)

11. Did you breastfeed your baby?

oh yes! i'd probably die if i wasn't able to. my mind was dead set on breastfeeding and wouldn't be able to do so might lose my sanity. fortunately for more than 6 months i was able to breastfeed my daughter. the most rewarding feeling of being a mother i must say.

12. If you were to pick just one moment from the time you gave birth until the moment you were discharged from the hospital, which do you think is the most special moment for you?

the time i was wheeled to the nursery room to breastfeed Olin for the first time. carrying her and seeing her yawn... my heart almost melt and my eyes got blurred with tears. even now,whenever i remember that special moment, i can still feel my heart stop a beat and it reminds me how special it is to become a mother.
