The Afritadang Maling that was...

to start with, I am hell no of a good cook! got it?! its just that, i wanted to start a new interest... which is duh....cooking!. hehehe...
you see, as a promise to my husband and to myself, i will really try to "STUDY" the science of sauteeing, boiling, mixing and blanching... hehehe...

besides the fact na master ko na ang Sinampalukang Manok...(ehem) which, later i will post na din the recipe..here is another lutong ulam by me! Aftritadang Maling! (applause! applause!) bow.

Recipe (naks, Henny Sison....move out of the way... hehehe)

1 can maling (sliced into cubes)
5 cloves garlic (minced) ---shala alam ko minced noh! hhehehe
2 onion (sliced)
2 pcs potato (cut into cubes)
2 bell pepper (sliced)
1 pack Del Monte Tomato Sauce (ewan ko ano ml nun basta sumunod sa maliit na pack)
1/2 cups water
cooking oil
salt and pepper to taste

ok, eto na...

first, fry muna ung potato para before i-join sa ibang ingredients sorta-kinda cook na. set aside.
then, sautee garlic until medyo brownish na, followed by onions, then the maling, in a low heat for 2 mins....
tapos lagay na ung potato, bell pepper, tomato sauce, water, salt and pepper, let it simmer for another 3-5 mins...
voila! now you have Maling Afritada.

ayos ba!? hehehe

rumblings and ratings for suppliers and wedding gamit's: PART 3

Bible: St. Paul's
Kwentos: nothin' much, since i just bought our's sa sm... didn't even bother to cover it up with lace whatsover..para mas makita ung simplicity.
Peso Power: P350.00

Wedding Arrhae: OCEANIC ( SM, Manila)
Peso Power: P600+++
Kwentos:
heard a lot of kwento's tungkol sa oceanic, having the longest clearance sale i know, pricey pero dahil sale sobrang bagsak presyo, magine a 70% discount! in fairness ganda tlaga ng material... so nung makita ko ung heart shape na trinket, d na ko nag di nako nagdalawang isip... tska it has a terno pa for our wedding rings.

Unity Coins: ACCLAIM (Robinson's Place)
Peso Power: P 1,800
Kwentos: eversince kze, i never wanted to have the same-ol'-typical gold-something wedding aras (d one with the parang-cage-ng-ibon-type). dunno, basta lang sabi ko i wanted something 'mahahawakan' talaga ng couple, ung magtutunugan while nilalagay sa kamay ng bride... hehhe.. ganun lang, tapos when i became active sa Weddings@work, un dun ko nalaman meron pala nito... unity coins, 13pcs of silver plated coins with different symbols like: love, trust, happiness etc...
medyo pricey, pero like what Amiel said, worth it na din, kze di pangkaraniwan... ;) lalo pang gumanda presentation nung nalagay sa holder.

Shoes: M. Nicole ( Landmark)
Ratings: 5
Peso Power: P 800+++
Kwentos:
diba mura! as in i really got a steal! super mura na for wedding shoes... actually a friend of mine suggested na pede ko magpa-made-to-order using my gown's fabric... pero i kinda loose the idea kze i wouldnt want my shoes na oldies ung ichura... before kze ive'd read na in one wedding article na it's not very important of what shoes brides will wear, basta importante ung comfortable ka.. kaya un, mega hanap tlaga ko ng comfy shoes na cute! ;)

Perfume: Elizabeth Arden -Beyond Paradise-
Ratings: 10! hehehe
Peso Power:
what peso?!? Gift from my father! hehehe..
Kwentos: thanks to my papa! supposedly i'll be wearing one of my favorite scent sa wedding ko na Clinique Simply..but then, when my father arrived galing States, one of his pasalubong for me eh yung Arden na Beyond Paradise, new fragrance daw un by that time, kaya haven't seen it sa mags yet... and when i smelled it?! wow... kakainlove daw ng amoy! hehehe... sweet scent for the wedding day! perfect. smug smug! ;)

Unity Candle: DIY
Ratings: 5 syempre! love ur own eh!
Peso Power: P 200+++

Love Bear: Blue Magic (SM, Manila)
Peso Power: P 289.00
Kwentos:
had this idea i think college pa ko, kze i wanted to involve kids (touch of innocence! hehehe) kaya sabi ko, no matter what i'll gonna have a game for the kids in the reception, true enough, gumana ang utak ko at nisipang bumili ng teddy bear, well, kesehodang girl o boy makakuha basta teddy bear na! hehehe.. the game goes like this, we made the kids create a circle at ako sa gitna of course! tapos music plays and theyl pass around the bear, when the music stop the kid who has the bear will be out of the game. until one kid was left and declared as the winner. Russel won the game. yup! boy ang nanalo... k lang, medyo bading ata talga ung pinsan ko na un! hehehehe

Principal Sponsors Give Aways: NOVELLINO WINES
Ratings: 5! (sorta-kinda-DIY yan e...)
Peso Power:
almost P300 each (inclusive the personalized labels, packaging and ribbons)
Kwentos: actually, we really had a hard time thinking on what to give our sponsors...coz like we have 24 of them! (i know, i know...dami talaga... hehehe), it's just that i'm really particular to what people will say sa mga gifts namin, tipong i wanted to make them feel so special, once we hand them the gifts, kze iisipin nila na d off-the-shelf lang ung bigay namin, personalizing is the game! kaya, i asked my friend Lovemela if she knows someone na nagagawa ng mga personalize sticker labels, kaze i had waiting supplier of Personalized Wine kaso it's so expensive! kaya sabi ko, i had to find one bago ko tuluyang bumagsak sa Supplier 1 ko, and good heaven! Lovemela introduced me to Ate Jacq of Marga-Arts Unlimited... so un, chicka chicka of what i wanted to make pagawa, show sample of sticker Label para sa wine, with corresponding names ng mga ninang at ninongs namin...tipong, they'll have to think twice before opening & drinking it kze sobrang personalized for them ung wine! hehehe... and then the'll just have to put it back to display na lang kze sayang! un! ang gusto kong mangyari...kaya ayoko ng straight from the bilihan-pack-distribute ang bibigay ko... kakatuwa, kze naapreciate nla ung give aways namin, specially when they saw their names in Big Bold Letters! ehehehe...
giddy happy!!! ;)

Ratings: ???!?!?!? hehehe...
Peso Power: P 30+++ (i'm a certified cheap-mut! hehehe)
Kwentos:
ok, so here's the chika...another sakit ng ulo for me this one, kze sobrang hirap magisip of what wedding favor will i buy... scouting the whole-wide divisoria for this one, that feeling ko, bigo ako tlaga! until now nalulungkot ako sa nabili ko.kze parang d ko pinagisipan! waaaaaaa!!! kahit pa sinasabi nila na ok naman daw. helo!?!? ok naman?!!? ano un e di pangit nga! waaaaa!!!! kaya daanin n lang sa packaging, khit medyo costly ang tissue-type-wrapper e sige, buy na rolyo kung rolyo! hehehe... ribbons and tags from Marga Arts ulet...oh diba carry lang?! hehehee...

Unity Cord: DIY (by Amiel)
Ratings: 10+++!!! naman! hirap at talento ni Amiel kaya...
Peso Power: priceless!
Kwentos:
sinong di matutuwa everytime maaalala at makikita mo pinaghirapan ng asawa mo di ba?! :) nung una, he doesn't want the idea of having specialized cord, kaze dami naman daw tinda sa wedding stores ng gawa ng cord... syempre, defend ko ung gusto ko... i always wanted out-of-norm paraphernalias...as u can see naman diba, gusto ko magkaron ng difference sa pangkaraniwan. and as far as i know, meron ng gumamit ng Rosary unity cord, wherein, ung 2 rosaries ang pagkakabitin to make two circles. so i searched for suppliers ng made to order unity cord, pero jusme! ang mamahal and when they send me samples thru email, goodness! di ko gagastusan ng ganun kamahal mga gawa nla noh! using ordinary beads and low class swarovski!? no way. since, my sister is into making anik-anik made of beads i just asked her san nakakabili ng mga glass beads and mga pangkabitkabit... ayun, wellmanson is the place @ divisoria, kmeng 2 ni amiel naghanap ng mga pang beads namin, it wasnt so hard naman pala, since citrus ang motiff, orange, yellow and green lang paglalaruan namin.hehehe... at gano katagal ni Amiel ginawa?! wla pang 3 hours! hehehe.... galing tlaga... just bought the crucifix sa St. Paul para tlagang rosary ung cord.

amiel and kathy: the wedding kwento

our wedding kwentos that'll definitely take centuries to finish....ehehee...

I really can't believe the wedding that we planned for like 5 months was finally over! And now, we are actually enjoying our first weeks of our marriage! It was all worth the puyat for thinking and hardwork... in just a day.. a dream wedding was unfolded...

pero let me make kwento starting from the day before the 'it' day...

December 27- night before, it rained!
and HEAVILY. AS IN.

sobrang dami tuloy ng inalay naming egg ni mama para lang it won't rain during our wedding...

turned out?! sobrang sunshine! Thank You Lord!!!! another miracle for me...

Siguro nga, its just a tukso esp. for me, kze the exact time we're transferring all the wedding paraphernalias from BMDR shoppe to our hotel room e dun ang kalakasan ng ulan.. muntikang madulas pa ang lola nyo! worse, wala si amiel to help me out, kze he has some errands to do pa, good thing was able to kulit kuya ichie para pasama sa shoppe and back to our room, hay... kapagod!

my mama and papa arrive around 9pm na, and my sister and other ento came also to our room to help me put ribbons sa giveaways ng sponsors... talk about cramming... yada, yada. ;)

then my gown and manequin arrived from Bibsy's room, and placed it sa corner ng bedroom.... hay... i'm really getting married... kileg.

was up 'till around 2am... with mixed emotions and butterflies in the stomach...and a lot of blah blahs in my mind...

and i have to be wake up by my mother at 4:30!!!! sus!

Took a looonnggg hot bath... and true enough, my stylist MARTIN BOROMEO arrived earlier than what i expected... make change na for my getting-up-dress... yes, coz i never wanted to wear a robe while being prep up... dunno why. basta yoko lang. ah yeah, kaya ayoko din pala kze ayoko magmukang boxer! nyahehehehe...

before 6 am, i was ready to be beautify na... hehehe...tsk, tsk, medyo matatagalan sa part na to...;) and one by one, suppliers started arriving... KULAY our photo/video team, Coords, Florist..

what i didn't know since i haven't experience bein a bride before is that andami palang anik-anik to do before going to the church, gettin' dress up with the gown exudes great effort from many people esp my couture/sister in law, my mom, Martin plus the fact that i have to be video captured... talk about bein' a celebrity! hehehe...
after the long photo opts, we now then head to the church which is like 5 minutes away from island cove.

Then there goes the GLITCHES! my female ento was left by their van! kaya nauna pa ko sa kanila! good thing, Jasper (brother/male abay) came back to the hotel para kumuha ng something and there he found the worried abays ko!

and they were late.

at na-pissed off si father... :(

supposedly before 9:30 bridal march pero since there were some un-called for events, 9:45 na nagstart....

my parents.... the cry-full mother. and the all-smile-face-to-cover-up-the-tears father walked before me...

then the door of the church were then close.
there comes the smoke effect! hehehe... slowly 2 people open the door (never got to see who they are though)
and there i enter...

sobrang unexplainable the feeling... parang sa clouds! ;)

then doves were released.

and i, teary-eyed bride walked down the white carpet (rolled out for me lang)over the red one and meet by my parents halfway through the altar.

iyakan.

then i saw familiar faces left and right..... waving and at the same time crying... just like me!

then i saw.... my Amiel! waiting... smilling... wow! then my heart beat stop. sa sobrang saya.

and the first thing he says to me?! "Be, ang ganda mo... promise...."

that made my day. ;)

..i'll be having a wonderful day ahead. i told myself.

(till here muna.... )

rumblings and ratings for supplier's and wedding gamit's: PART 2

back and front ng Thank You Card
invites
piles of invites ready to distribute

Invitation/Thank You Cards: c/o BMDR Fashion House
Ratings: 4
Inclusions: 125 invites / 200+++ Thank You cards
Peso Power: P70 each for the invites/ free for the Thank You Cards
Kwentos:
Hmmm, actually, sa invites nagkaron kame ng konting prob... u see, we have like 3 different suppliers which presented us sample invites, so nag-arrive kame dun sa Supplier 1: the usual-- talking, exchanging ideas, choosing papers, drafting lay-outs,telling them what fonts to use to this line and that, giving sample wordings etc, etc... so ayun, ok na, since they showed us naman a nice sample... kaso eto ako, si kulet, si hanap at si search sa web, tadan! may nakita bglang sample invite na so unique and so personalize, so agad kong pinrint at pinakita kay Bibsy (sya kze ang over-all in charge for our wedding) then it hit us! un ang gusto naming invite! kaso, nagsiguro na si supplier 1 at 'nagpa-go na daw ng printing for our invites' which practically wasn't convincing. kze it really took them a lot of working days to finish...tapos eto pa masaklap... when they gave us like a bunch of our invites, sus! sobrang bagsak sa qc! the wordings were wrong, fonts were soooo unreadable, the papers used was not the one we agreed upon plus parang may mga alikabok na nakadikit sa paper itself. naku! to think na almost month away na lang ang wedding... pissed off lahat. kaya what Bibsy did, kumontak cia ng ibang supplier to create another set of sample invite, this time, inspired dun sa nakita at pinrint ko na nagandahan kame...thank God at mas maganda ang kinalabasan! ;) kaya in a rush talga ang paggawa ng personalize invite! we just then put ribbons on it (kame ni amiel) para magmuka namang colorful outside.see above pics. ;)
As i remember, after distributing the invites, a good friend of mine (si mae) texted me agad to tell na maganda invite namin, lumabas daw tlaga si kathy design and lay-out (literally and constructively) kaze puro pics namin ung invite e! hehehe... tska non-conformist daw. sobrang saya kze naapreciate nila ung lay-out design ko! tsaka (glen)another friend said na mukang artista daw! hehehe.. ok, exag un pefo feel ko! hehehe..
For the thank you cards naman--->>> it's just 1/4 of an A4 size linen paper with our picture, lyrics of the song Grow old with you, tska thank you message at the back with our names, date of the wedding ang venues. simple, pero may dating kze with personal touch! ;)

rumblings and ratings for supplier's and wedding gamit's: PART 1

And who the heck says preparing for a wedding is easy?! nakupo! hindi kaya.... esp if it's YOUR own wedding your preparing! ;)

Now, i present to you... supplier's and wedding paraphernalias ratings and kwentos! highest is 5 and 1 is the lowest.

Couturier: Bibsy Mae del Rosario (BMDR Fashion House) --->>> my sister in-law! ;)
Rating: 5+++++++ !!!!!!!!! superv!
Inclusions: complete wedding gown, gowns for the 2 mothers, all female entourage gowns (secondary sponsors, bridesmaids, flower girls, ninang's), Barong of Amiel, 2 fathers, and all male abays!
Peso Power: Priceless! --->>> 'twas all labor of love from Bibsy and finance power of Mami!(mother-in-law)
Kwentos: Whew! i never thought that i would be having a grand wedding... esp. since Amiel and I started talking and mock planning ours.... The thing was, we both wanted a simple church wedding, but you see, it's just a matter of luck!;) kze, his youngest sister, Bibsy, a designer on the rise, started having her own shoppe early this year lang, yeah, all the while we always wanted her to design for my wedding gown kze she has this youthful ideas since ive'd seen her gowns na even before... pero never would we thought na ALL AS IN ALL the gowns for the entourage will be design by her! So talagang swerte diba?! hehehe...
So ayun na, planning stage (the hardest of all stages!) sobrang dami at tagal na brainstorming ang nangyari...
like, for the motiff, designs, yada,yada,yada....
design: unlike typical gowns nowadays, yoko ng tube gown design (have a personal reason for that) what i want is a super simple ball gown, with a medyo-low neckline, hehehe... kze i believe na kapag wedding it'll be the face of the bride ang dapat tignan and the gown to complement lang. Which was remarkably done by Bibsy! she just made my gown more ganda by having it hand painted with flowery designs in our citrus colors (shala daba?!)
and a lot of beadworks for the sparkling effect. at wag kalimutan ang pagkahaba habang train na handpainted and beaded too! ganda tlaga!
UNIQUE GOWN. as a result, everyone was raving abut it! ;)
motiff: i always dream of having a lilac/violet inspired wedding, but things has changed when i open my eyes for other colors like orange and fuschia! so ayun, from the start of the planning, i like to have a tangerine inspired wedding with combination (which at time i had no idea watsoever to complement orange) then Bibsy suggest to match it with green! (then i said, y not!?) ganda nga nun.
then brainstorming again...
how about a CITRUS THEME WEDDING 'TE KATS!? suggest Bibsy.

Orange, Green and Yellow!
cool! thank God for suggestions and bright ideas! ;)

and that was the start of Our Citrus Motiff.

Turned out: A unique and colorful wedding! ;)

Love it! ;) sobra. ;)

Amiel's Barong naman--->>> ganda! ;) bagay syempre!
he supposedly be wearing a chinese-collared barong, yung uso ngaun na may pagka-stiff ung arrive, ung dina kelangan ng under shirt, kze may lining na, kaso because of his built, siya, personally decline the idea of wearing ng ganung design. magmumuka daw ciang gen.aguinaldo! hehehe...
so he settled for the traditional type with collar barong. na grabe sa bagay sa kanya! ;)
what compliment pa his barong e ung silver-something buttons that Bibsy used na mas nakaganda sa barong.

The one with being a wife! ;)

we're married! hahaha... and i'm a wifey now... ;) ...after almost 3 weeks of no blog and friendster at all, i have a lot of catching up to do! naman! well, the wedding was a blast (though there were lot of uncontrollable glitches and stuff alike...) still, it turned out okay... and amiel and i were really, really happy.. i believed that's the bottom of the story...

we also had our confirmation @ st. mary... together with my dad who proxied our ninong and
nana inggay as our god mother.
around 3pm, my sister and i fly na to the island cove to check in kze we still have the final
rehearsal at 5pm with the whole ento.
5:30pm start of the rehearsal with our two coordinators, Ms. Mk and Ms. Sharon...
made final touches, briefings for the bridesmaids and abay's, gave my time table sked for the
wedding day... briefed me and amiel with other stuff.
9:00pm mama and papa arrived @ the hotel, make konting kwento, arranged all the parapher-
nalias needed for tomorrow, prepare all the things needed for the wedding.
12:00 midnight: and i'm still wide awake! keep thinking of what will happen on my wedding...
excited and nervous. sad kze i'll be leaving na my family... yeah, i did cry myself to sleep... no
wonder why i had puffy eyes on our day! := (

---birthday celeb din ni mike dillan, my inaanak and amiel's nephew...
---Wedding dinner @ our place, which was atteded by my co-employees who weren't able to
to make it sa reception namin kze it was our year-end inventory. attended also by the whole
kapitbahayan and other friends who wasnt able to made it sa official reception. sobrang dami
dumating! saya! ;) ... afterwhich, balik cove kame ni amiel... honeymoon?! hehehehe...

december 29 --- still at the hotel! cant believe that we are finally married... ;) checked out late and went straight
to my parents house to open our tons of gifts! jonah and rj were also there to help us...
***we were suppose to have our honeymoon/vacation getaway after new year, but sad news
came when my mother in law called and tell us that amiel's grandma is in a critical
condition, so we immediately went to the hospital, and before midnight, lola passed away+

december 30 --- made transfer na our gifts to our apartment, clean and make ayos all the stuff... pero gulo pa
din kze we have a small house kaya puno agad sa mga gifts... pahinga, then punta na sa wake
ng lola...

december 31 --- we sleep sa house ng family ko, then go to the market with my mom, for the new year's preps
tsaka for fruits para sa aming house ni amiel... ;)
afternoon--made ayos the house for the new year, all the pampaswerte ritual was made and
arranged by me... sabi amiel, may pagka chinese ang mga beliefs ko! hehehe... pala pasok
swerte! hehehe...
dinner --- with amiel's family... then new year's eve naman with mine.... tapos fly na sa house
namin after putukan...
january 1 --- our first new year as husband and wife! yehey!!!! saya saya!!!
