on breastfeeding

2 days after i gave birth, i was wheeled to the nursery room to breasfeed olin... sad thing, still i doesn't have milk yet! what surprise me most naman eh kahit it was our first time to see each other and my first time to carry her sobrang bilis nyang mag-latch on sakin! parang pro na cia at ako pa ang nangangapa... all the time si Amiel nasa outside ng room at pinapanood kameng mag-ina... such a wonderful experience! di man natupad ang normal birth delivery atleast di ako pahihiraan ni olin sa bfeeding... kahit na mahigit 24 hours na cia after birth pinapadede ng formula (enfalac)...
after an hour of olin trying to express milk from me... i finally decided to stop...baka di p lang ready ang boobsies ko to produce milk.. so i just her again sa nursery staff... i was sad, pero ok lang...sarap ng feeling na karga mo na finally ang baby na nsa tyan mo for whole nine months...
january 28 -- we were advised na pwede na kameng umuwi.. and olin was finally roomed in with me... we decided kze that olin will not be roomed-in para makapagpahinga ako ng mabuti.. after the nurse hand me my daughter i tried again to breastfeed her.. and surprise! may milk nako! ;) akala ko marami agad lalabas na milk pero hanep sa konti at ang sakit! yun daw yung colostrum..yellowish milk na malapot pero pinakaimportante dahil sobrang daming nutrients at anti-bodies ang laman!... super happy ako... a good sign na makakapag-breastfeed ako.
at first time na mag-pump ako ng milk wala pang 20 ml ang na-eexpress ko... pagod na kamay ko peo patak patak lang lumalabas... my mom naman lagi akong ginagawan ng masasabaw na ulam... malunggay soup..halaan..nilaga..sinigang...etc... also im taking malunggay capsule... so far very good na milk supply ko... the other night i was able to pump 125ml/4oz milk! sobrang saya ko kinuhanan ko ng pic... a milestone for my breastfeeding journey!
currently, im 99% breastfeeding mom... the 1% is the formula..baka kze sobrang masanay sa milk ko at di nya makilala ang lasa ng formula milk..pero super dalang lang, atleast once a day... madami dami na din akong stock sa fridge ng breastmilk..kaya super happy mommy! so pano... gotta pump pump pump! ;)
